The Circle would like to appoint one additional non-executive director to our board. As part of our commitment to diversity and inclusion we are keen to strengthen the stakeholder representation on the board by adding someone who has lived experience of the services provided by the Circle. This could be as one of our tenants at Staffa Place, or someone who has benefited from the services we provide in some other way.
As a director your role, along with the rest of the board, is to lead the process for development of the Circle’s strategy and vision and to provide entrepreneurial leadership while ensuring effective controls are in place. You don’t need to have previous experience as a director, but you do need to be prepared to commit the time needed to understand and fulfil the role.
Board meetings currently take place every two months, normally on weekday evenings. In addition to reading the papers in advance and attending meetings, non-executive directors are expected to be available at other times to provide advice and support to management, attend events organised by the Circle and take part in discussions on urgent matters which may arise from time to time.
Non-executive directors are unpaid and give their time freely in order to help the Circle to achieve its objective in support of the community. You can read about the other directors at https://thecircledundee.org.uk/team/A full job description is here

If you would like to apply for the role please email firstname.lastname@example.org with details of your experience and why you think you can help the Circle as a director. If you have a current CV please also include this. We will arrange interviews so candidates can meet the directors and find out more about the role before we finalise the appointment.
